PEANUTS
Peanuts are widely consumed around the world as they are a great source of protein, but unfortunately allergies to them are on the rise around the globe.
Peanuts contain over 30 different proteins, any of which can trigger a reaction. An allergy to peanuts is not the same thing as an allergy to tree nuts, as peanuts are a legume and not a nut. However, between 25% to 40% of those with a peanut allergy are also allergic to at least one type of tree nut.
