FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Treatment and Results
What conditions or cases cannot be treated with AAT, and why?

AAT treatments are designed to address symptoms caused by inappropriate reactions to harmless substances or stimuli. However, there are specific cases where AAT is not effective:

1. Pathogen-related Conditions: AAT cannot treat symptoms caused by pathogens such as bacteria, viruses, or parasites, as these do not involve inappropriate reactions but rather infections that require other forms of treatment.

2. Intolerances: AAT does not treat intolerances, which result from deficiencies rather than reactions. For example, lactose intolerance, caused by a lack of the lactase enzyme needed to digest lactose, cannot be treated by AAT. However, if dairy-related symptoms are due to a sensitivity to milk or other dairy components, AAT can be highly effective. In cases where lactose intolerance and dairy sensitivity coexist, AAT may offer partial relief.

3. Anaphylaxis or Life-threatening Symptoms: AAT does NOT treat cases of anaphylaxis or life-threatening symptoms. In such cases, strict avoidance is strongly advised.

While AAT is effective in treating many symptoms associated with allergies or sensitivities, certain cases may not respond to the treatment.

How many treatments are typically needed?

AAT addresses one allergen family per treatment, so the total number of treatments depends on how many allergen families are involved in the reaction. Each treatment is thorough, identifying and targeting specific components within the allergen family, down to the protein molecule.

For example, allergen families can include categories like dust, dairy, or grasses. Within each family, we identify and address all the components that trigger reactions, ensuring a comprehensive treatment. While many allergen families can be treated in a single visit, some may require multiple sessions to fully resolve.

For conditions such as chronic sinusitis or IBS, which often involve several allergen families, 5 to 12 treatments may be necessary, depending on the complexity of the case.

How long does an AAT treatment session typically take?

The AAT Initial Session typically lasts between 40 minutes to 1 hour and includes the following steps:

  • Completing the patient’s health intake form
  • Testing for all relevant substances contributing to the patient's symptoms
  • Explaining how the AAT treatment works
  • Establishing a full treatment plan
  • Administering the first AAT treatment

Follow-up AAT Sessions usually take about 20 to 30 minutes and include:

  • Checking the patient's symptom progress
  • Reassessing the previous AAT treatment
  • Administering a treatment for a new allergen family

The duration of each session may vary depending on the practitioner’s preference and whether the clinic has front desk staff for patient check-out. Treatment times can be customized based on the practitioner’s approach.

How quickly can my patients expect to see results?

Many patients experience symptom relief within 24 hours for reactions related to a single substance. Conditions such as sinusitis or irritable bowel syndrome often show improvement after the first few treatments. However, each case is unique and may require additional sessions for full resolution. As with any healthcare approach, some cases may not respond to treatment.

Do my patients need to stop taking their medication before receiving AAT treatment?

No, your patients should continue taking any prescribed medications from their doctor. There’s also no need to discontinue over-the-counter medications before receiving AAT treatment.

Are there any age restrictions for receiving AAT treatment?

No, there are no age restrictions. AAT is safe and effective for individuals of all ages, from infants to those over 100 years old.

Is it necessary to have a general allergy test before receiving AAT treatment?

No, traditional allergy testing is not required before receiving AAT treatment. However, if your patient has had allergy tests done by their doctor, they are encouraged to bring the results to their appointment.

Does AAT provide traditional allergy tests?

No, AAT does not perform traditional allergy tests. Instead, AAT uses a Stress Assessment (Muscle Response Test) to identify substances that are causing stress on the body’s systems and contributing to the patient's symptoms.

Is it possible to administer more than one AAT treatment in a single day?

Yes, up to four AAT treatments can be administered in a single day. This flexibility allows practitioners to tailor treatment plans based on each patient's individual needs and schedule. It also gives patients the freedom to choose how quickly they want to proceed with their treatments, depending on the results they’re aiming for and their budget. By offering multiple treatments in one day, patients may experience faster symptom relief, making it an ideal option for those seeking quicker outcomes.

Are there any guarantees that AAT will alleviate symptoms?

As with any medical treatment, AAT cannot guarantee results for every patient. While many patients experience significant relief from their symptoms, individual outcomes can vary based on factors such as the nature of the symptoms, the patient’s overall health, and how their body responds to treatment. It is also possible that some symptoms may persist or new symptoms could arise, as each patient’s case is unique. Our goal is to provide effective care, but it’s important to recognize that results can differ from person to person.

IS ACUPUNCTURE OR THE USE OF NEEDLES NECESSARY FOR AN AAT TREATMENT?

No, acupuncture or the use of needles is not necessary for AAT treatment. Instead, AAT uses a painless acupressure technique that is safe and effective for patients of all ages.

    Treatment Costs and Insurance
What is the average cost for an AAT Treatment?

The pricing for AAT treatments is determined independently by each practitioner, allowing you the freedom to set your own fees. Generally, observed prices range from $170 to $350 for the initial session and approximately $105 to $175 for subsequent follow-up appointments.

    IS AAT COVERED BY INSURANCE?
AAT is not covered by insurance since there is no diagnostic code for the treatment. However, patients can use their Health Savings Account (HSA) or Flexible Spending Account (FSA) to pay for AAT treatments. This approach allows practitioners to shift to a cash-based model, enabling them to retain 100% of their earnings. With AAT, you can enjoy the benefits of providing effective care without the complexities of insurance.
    AAT Software and Support
Can I use the AAT Expert System across multiple locations?

Yes, the AAT Expert System is designed for mobility and flexibility, allowing it to be used across multiple locations as it operates on a laptop.

What are the fees for AAT software updates, and how are they implemented?

AAT software updates are performed remotely, and the fee for each update is generally around $395.

    Training and Practitioner Support
What kind of support will I receive after incorporating AAT into my practice?

We are deeply committed to your success as an AAT practitioner, providing both clinical and marketing support. After completing your training, you'll have access to bi-monthly online Q&A sessions where you can ask about treatments, cases, and protocols as often as needed. Additionally, we offer a range of marketing materials via the AAT Practitioner Portal to help you promote AAT to your patients.

We also ensure direct, personalized communication through real-time discussions with our team, either in person or via our private AAT Facebook group.

How is THE AAT training conducted?

The AAT training is delivered through the AAT Practitioner Portal in an online, on-demand format, making it flexible for busy practitioners. The training is designed to be completed within 3 weeks and is divided into a series of sequential modules, allowing practitioners to progress at their own pace within a weekly structure.

The training is organized into three main sections:

    1. Initial Training Modules: After completing the first section, practitioners participate in a 2-hour, one-on-one online session with an AAT trainer. This session focuses on refining the treatment technique, including stress testing (muscle testing), reviewing the entire treatment protocol, and addressing any questions. Practitioners are required to have a practice patient for this session.

    2. Practice Treatments: Following the first section, it is recommended that practitioners conduct 5 to 10 practice treatments on friends or family to gain hands-on experience. These treatments are performed in conjunction with completing the remaining training modules.

    3. Ongoing Support: To ensure a thorough understanding of the material, weekly online Q&A sessions are available for additional guidance and clarification throughout the training process.

This structure ensures that practitioners are fully prepared to perform AAT treatments with confidence and accuracy.

Can I hire additional practitioners to help administer AAT treatments?

Absolutely! You are welcome to hire additional practitioners to perform AAT treatments on your behalf. Many AAT practitioners do this to meet the growing demand for treatments. However, it’s important that the professionals you hire hold a valid license in one of the following fields: MD, DO, DC, L.Ac, ND, RN, NP, or PA.

Once hired, these licensed professionals must complete the AAT training provided by our team to ensure they are fully equipped and meet the required standards for administering AAT treatments.

Am I able to personally train the practitioners I hire to administer AAT treatments?

All practitioners must complete the official training provided by the AAT training team. Current AAT practitioners are not permitted to personally train others in the AAT system. To ensure consistency, quality, and the highest standards of care, it is essential that all practitioners go through the standardized AAT training program. This guarantees they gain the necessary knowledge and skills to effectively administer AAT treatments.

Is ongoing certification required for AAT practitioners?

Yes, AAT practitioners are required to undergo re-certification every two years. This ensures that they remain current with the latest advancements in AAT practices, techniques, and protocols. The re-certification process helps practitioners enhance their skills, deepen their understanding of the treatment, and maintain a high standard of care for their patients.

Additionally, to be included in the AAT practitioner directory, you must keep your certifications up to date. This requirement not only fosters a commitment to ongoing professional development but also ensures that patients can find qualified practitioners who are dedicated to delivering effective and safe treatments. By participating in re-certification, practitioners demonstrate their dedication to providing the best possible outcomes for their patients.

The cost for re-certification is $595.

For marketing your new practice, we provide several valuable resources. These include a PowerPoint presentation for public talks, designed to attract new patients, along with email templates and social media strategies to promote your clinic and generate interest.
